This song appeared as a guest track on the late, great Jackie Leven's final album in 2011 and his album artwork is included here. Jackie loved the track and he was kind enough to sprinkle his magic on the chorus vocals. The spoken word vocalist on the song is Gola Wolf Richards. The song was inspired by a great friend of mine who told me the story how his father had only got to hold his new-born granddaughter just the once. He passed away the very next day. Poignant indeed.

For anyone not familiar with the magnificent body of work which Jackie Leven left behind, I strongly recommend that you check out his substantial back catalogue as well as his wonderful post punk band Doll By Doll. It is music which changed my life and my outlook on song writing.
